The St. Nicholas International School will be hosting the first-ever World Scholar’s Cup local round in Danang!
This competition will involve St. Nicholas students competiting against other international students from Vietnam, and Malaysia. It will also allow students to show off their academic talents of debating, writing and trivia based knowledge.
This is a world-wide competition with the potential for teams to advance to higher stages of competition in other countries.
Founded in 2007, the World Scholar’s Cup brings together over 30,000 students in 70 countries every year. It goal: to inspire in young people of all
backgrounds a love of learning, a confidence in new skills, and a sense of global citizenship. In collaboration with St Nicholas International School, the World Scholar’s Cup will be held first-ever local round in Da Nang on May 18-19, 2019. Teams of students will participate in four events: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and Scholar’s Bowl. Topics of exploration will be drawn from this year’s World Scholar’s Cup theme, A World on the Margins.
Scholars will have the chance to qualify for the 2019 Global Round of their choice and, in due course, for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in the United States.
